In which the first thing I do is shake Claire's hand
Let me begin by saying I was using a lens that can only be endearingly referred to as "misty 50". This isn't a knock on the lens itself, as I had borrowed it from a good friend, and it served me quite well during the shoot— this is only to say that a relatively (only very slightly) old 50mm 1.8, has unusual rendering qualities. And that we were shooting in the dark, sort of.
(Yes, because clarifying this is what's important in a post where I chronicle my physical proximity to my actual most favorite ANTM contestant.)
As you can see, we're both gorgeous and by that I mean I'm a mess. Don't look at my face (and awful awkward-growing out, post-shoot hair) just look at Claire's beautiful one. (Props to me for looking only slightly nervous though.)
If you can get your hands on Manila Bulletin's issue today (go out and buy one, I'll wait for you), you can look at Darrel Pobre's (and the stylists Jear De McCuttac and Aisa Ipac and style team's) work in the fashion section of the paper.
Here are some behind the scenes photos:
If you had the chance to listen to the BTS video footage for this shot, you would have heard me and Kim C. discussing our plan tokidnap liberate buy this jacket (above).
Most of my photos have a fuzzy Darrel foreground. :)
The shoot took place at the Jak en Poy PSID Exhibit. Lots of great interiors designed by the graduating class of 2011.
I was really taken by these tubular ceiling fixtures.
Accessories.
More Claire! And Dave Grona who did the hair for the shoot. And Kim Camelo's great legs in the background.
I'll try to post a few more shots soon. I think I've exhausted my blog chattiness for this post.

In which I live in the past
Found myself taking photos by the bay almost a year to the date, under very similar circumstances.
This time around last year I was preparing to make a film and I was so sure I was headed somewhere; now here I am, shooting a documentary and feeling as lost as ever.
It's strange how often we repeat ourselves and yet how much we change from one moment to the next.
The years are short but the days are so long.

Taal Fishkill
I guess I have to say a little something here before I show any of the photos. If you're the type to lose your lunch easily, then you should know I'm about to show you photos of rotting dead fish.
Ok? Ok. Photos after the jump.

Bloggers United and tackling the backlog that is my life
I didn't want to be redundant and cross-post all of the photos, and anyway Melai tells the story much better. That being said, there are a couple of things I'd like to add:
Most of the photos are actually screen grabs from the event, as I attended primarily to shoot video coverage (which I mention as a way of explaining why the photos might look "different" this time around.) I'm going to be working on the video (and a couple of others) for a while and hopefully, I can make sense of the footage as the whole thing was quite run and gun, and I had to wing it all with one camera and lens.
I have to say I did have some fun observing the fashion bloggers! They are quite a creative and attractive bunch. Never thought I would ever be even marginally included in anything fashion, but there you go. Thanks Melai for letting me tag along with my camera!
Now some things you didn't get to see (and some that you did but I'm posting them again anyway):
This is a performance by Feanne Hontiveros Mauricio of the Gondo Girls. (sidebar: Goodness gracious, someone please correct me if I get any of this wrong. I am---and I say this without a shred of apprehension, pretension, and/or derision---a total noob blogger-wise.)
These are [The] Walkie-Talkies, a duo comprised by the awesome sisters Raleene and Rizza Cabrera. They are very cute.
I really like this outfit.
These are the girls from the blog The Plump Pinay , Danah and Stacy. They were really sweet and way fun to hang around with, and I know this instinctively even though all I did was pass by a couple of times to shoot them. (They gave me a nice shout-out while I was shooting them on video!)
I think that's Karl Leuterio taking other bloggers' photos.
Bloggers taking other bloggers' photos: a recurring theme actually. (Also, oooh I too am a blogger. How very meta of me.)
And actual shopping, which, sadly, I did not get to do any of.
Our intrepid host/organizer/all round do-gooder Melai giving away prizes from one of the sponsors, Tomato.
A rep from the K.I.D.S. foundation, a non-profit organization which the organizers, Melai, Pax, and Ana, partnered with for the event. Forty percent of the event's proceeds went to the projects Isang Milyong Aklat, Isang Milyong Pangarap and 100KIDScholars.
I think this is the most bloggerrrrrific I've allowed mypiratename to be, and for that I deserve a photo: (!)
This was taken before I leaned on a Close-Up standee and stained my new white oxford shirt blue. Yes, I did this while at a fashion event. Note that the only photo that exists to prove I was there was also taken inside a ladies' room. By me. That's just how I roll.
Alas the reality is my semi-glamorous, minimum-hulas moments happen few and far between and for the days after the event I was back to: 1.) shooting the rotting fishkill in Taal, 2.) commuting from one end of the city to the other (and back) for a software expo, and 3.)sweating my skin off in the nighttime sauna that is Cubao X. But those are other posts entirely.
